Hi at the moment we are on 'Powered by phpBB © 2001, 2005 phpBB Group' as it says on the bottom of our forum. I would like to know if there are any upgrades? would we lose any information that we currently have on the forum?

I don't suppose you saw this at the bottom of this forum:
Code:
Powered by phpBB © 2000, 2002, 2005, 2007 phpBB Group

This would indicate a major update in 2007, and if you checked the phpBB website you would see that phpBB 3.0.0 (Olympus) has been released.

Hi yes I have seen the bottom with 2007. But if I upgrade to the 3.0 version will the forum be off line for a while? will I lose any information that is on the forum now? How can I back you my forum?

thanks

If you upgrade to version 3.0 your forum will be offline during the upgrade. You may lose passwords (users may have to request new passwords using the lost password function) and you may lose forum permissions so you have to manually restore all permissions. See the problems we had when we upgraded to version 3.

/Andreas
