By rival forum, you mean a competing forum?

That is unfortunately impossible to tell.

If you're logged in at the same time as the user, then you can see who's doing what at the admin page. It's not exactly what you want, but it's the best I can think of.

You can of course also plant a decoy in the forum. Create a new forum that you only give access to a few members and post an article there. Wait a few days and see if the article was "stolen" or not. Then give some other users access to the forum and see what happens.

/Andreas

Pretty stupid to actually do this as the member, but there aren't any members on your forum who have this rival forum as their website on their profile?

Viewing who has been online at what time and date wouldn't necessarily be effective; the thief may (without intention to fool you) copy the article into a document and save to their computer, only to post it on their forum hours or days later.

Hmm, sometimes these criminals are not too bright. I guess they don't have a static IP so it changes all the time? Otherwise a simple ban would fix it. The only other alternative is to lodge a complaint with their Internet Service Provider. They are breaching laws by not referencing their sources (plagiarism).

I am very frustrated to hear about this situation as I do have a very personal affiliation with carers and healthcare providers, and it sickens me that there are people who are so disrespectful.

Keep your chin up and don't let it spoil your holidays. I wish you every success in tracking these people down and hope you can resolve the issue. It's just too difficult to log session times and dates.
