Is there an option where I can stop the 'guests'. I would like it where you have to register to look around the forum.

Then you should set the permissions on all your forums to registered:

* Login at the administrator page and select "Permissions" under Forum admin.

* Select the forum you would like to close and click on "look up forum"

* Now you will see the current permissions for your forum. If you select "Registered" the users must be registered to post, but guests can read. If you select "Registered [hidden]" only registered users can read and post in your forums (guest will njot see the forums).
